A04512 by Samuelson, provides that unclaimed property will be automatically returned only if the person receiving the property is the sole owner; provides the Department of Treasury the option of entering into memorandums of understanding with state agencies for the purpose of distributing educational materials; and directs the Department of Treasury to establish a data sharing program to locate or verify identifying information of individuals listed in its records as the owners of unclaimed property, to be updated annually. SB 739 (Vogel, Elder) – (PN 981) The Telemedicine Act authorizes the regulation of telemedicine by professional licensing boards; and provides for insurance coverage of telemedicine. Provides definitions, amending the definition of “insurer” to include the Insurance Company Law, making editorial changes to the definitions of “participating network provider” and “telemedicine” and striking the definition of “provider to provider consultation.” The remainder of the act shall take effect immediately. A04444, by Irvin, closes potential loopholes by specifying that if more than one individual is purchasing the home, none of them may have previously owned it; stipulates that they can never have owned in another state; specifies the exemption provided under the bill is only for the states one percent per portion of the realty transfer tax (RTT) and it does not affect the local one percent portion of the RTT. The amendment was unanimously adopted.
