2026 Primary Election Results

May 20, 2026

Yesterday was the Commonwealth’s midterm primary election. Along with the state’s 17 congressional districts, half of the seats in the state Senate and the entire House of Representatives are on the ballot this year. Below is a summary of the results and what to expect in November’s general election.

PA House

The following members lost their primary election:

  • HD-22 (Lehigh): Ce-Ce Gerlach (D) defeated Rep. Ana Tiburcio (D) and will face Robert Smith Jr. (R) in the general election.
  • HD-50 (Greene & Washington): Ben Humble (R) defeated Rep. Bud Cook (R) and will face Lois Bjornson-Bower (D) in the general election
  • HD-166 (Delaware): Judy Trombetta (D) defeated Rep. Greg Vitali (D) and will face Joseph Walker (R) in the general election.
  • HD-195 (Philadelphia): Sierra McNeil (D) defeated Rep. Keith Harris (D) and does not face a general election opponent.

The following members won their primary election and will serve another term in office due to not having a general election opponent:

  • HD-24 (Allegheny): Latasha Mayes (D)
  • HD-104 (Dauphin): Dave Madsen (D)
  • HD-159 (Delaware): Carol Kazeem (D)
  • HD-185 (Delaware & Philadelphia): Regina Young (D)

The following individuals won their primary election and will have an opponent in the general election:

  • HD-28 (Allegheny): Jeremy Ferderber (D) will face Rep. Jeremy Shaffer (R)
  • HD-39 (Allegheny & Washington): Dylan Altemara (D) will face Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R)
  • HD-59 (Westmoreland): Jordan Omlor (D) will face Rep. Leslie Rossi (R)
  • HD-91 (Adams): Dan Moul (R) will face Kathleen Pratt (D)
  • HD-106 (Dauphin): Anju Singh (D) will face Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R)
  • HD-114 (Lackawanna): Logan Lombardo (R) will face Rep. Bridget Kosierowski (D)
  • HD-117 (Luzerne): Jamie Walsh (R) will face Jeremy Benscoter (D)
  • HD-120 (Luzerne): Fern Leard (D) will face Rep. Brenda Pugh (R)
  • HD-126 (Berks): Jacklyn Rusnock (D) will face Miquel Vasquez (R)
  • HD-128 (Berks): Mark Gillen (R) will face Andrew Wagner (D)
  • HD-187 (Lehigh): Rachel Cuevas (D) will face Rep. Gary Day (R)
  • HD-192 (Philadelphia): Morgan Cephas (D) will face Tiffany Brown (R)
  • HD-199 (Cumberland): Tawanda Hunter Stallworth (D) will face Rep. Barb Gleim (R)

Open seats

  • HD-12 (Butler): Scott Timko (R) will face Brandon Dukes (D). This is currently an open seat due to the resignation of former Rep. Stephanie Scialabba (R). A special election will take place on August 18.
  • HD-45 (Allegheny): Brittany Bloam (D) will face James Julius (R). Rep. Anita Kulik (D) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-88 (Cumberland): Jeff Clark (R) will face Sara Agerton (D). Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-98 (Lancaster & Lebanon): Nicky Woods (R) will face Hugh Darlington (D). Rep. Tom Jones (R) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-100 (Lancaster): Dave Nissley (R) won the primary election and does not face a general election opponent. Bryan Cutler (R) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-121 (Luzerne): Jessica McClay (D) will face Michael Harstock (R). Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski (D) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-130 (Berks): Melissa Brewer (R) will face Erik Bonnett (D). Rep. David Maloney (R) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-148 (Montgomery): Megan Griffin-Shelley (D) won the primary election and does not face a general election opponent. Rep. Mary Jo Daley (D) is not running for reelection.
  • HD-200 (Philadelphia): Chris Johnson (D) won the primary election and does not face a general election opponent. Rep. Chris Rabb (D) is not running for reelection.

There was also a special election in HD-196 to replace former Rep. Seth Grove (R-Lancaster), who resigned earlier this year. George Margetas (R) defeated Ron Ruman (D) and will serve the remaining months of the serve.

PA Senate

The following members won their primary election and will serve another term in office due to not having a general election opponent:

  • SD-8 (Philadelphia): Anthony Williams (D)
  • SD-32 (Bedford, Fayette, Somerset & Westmoreland): Pat Stefano (R)
  • SD-42 (Allegheny): Wayne Fontana (D)
  • SD-48 (Berks, Lancaster & Lebanon): Chris Gebhard (R)

The following individuals won their primary election and will have an opponent in the general election:

  • SD-4 (Montgomery & Philadelphia): Art Haywood (D) will face Todd Johnson (R)
  • SD-16 (Bucks & Lehigh): Mark Pinsely (D) will face Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R)
  • SD-20 (Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne & Wyoming): Lisa Baker (R) will face Jacylyn Baker (D)
  • SD-22 (Lackawanna & Luzerne): Marty Flynn (D) will face Sharon Soltis Sparano (R)
  • SD-34 (Cumberland, Dauphin & Perry): Nathan Wood (D) will face Sen. Greg Rothman (R)
  • SD-36 (Lancaster): Tom Jones (R) will face Sen. James Malone (D)
  • SD-46 (Beaver, Greene & Washington): Camera Bartolotta (R) will face Evan Snyder (D)

Congress

Below are three of the most notable Congressional races that were on yesterday’s ballot.

  • PA-3 (Philadelphia): Chris Rabb (D) won the primary election and does not face a general election opponent. He will replace Rep. Dwight Evans (D) who is not running for reelection.
  • PA-7 (Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe & Northampton): Bob Brooks (D) will face Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R) in the general election.
  • PA-10 (Cumberland, Dauphin & York): Janelle Stelson (D) will face Rep. Scott Perry (R) in the general election.
