2024: Leap Year, Summer Olympics, and, of course, a Presidential Election. While Trump and Harris are fighting it out front and center, in Pennsylvania we have a number of other races on November 5: one of our U.S. Senators, our Congressional delegation, all three row officers, our entire House of Representatives (203 members) and half of our Senate (odd-numbered districts) are all up for reelection. Here’s a quick look at the candidates:

Statewide

  • U.S. Senate: Incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D) will face Dave McCormick (R).
  • Attorney General: Eugene DePasquale (D) will face David Sunday (R). This is an open seat due to Attorney General Michelle Henry not running for reelection.
  • Auditor General: Incumbent Tim DeFoor (R) will face Malcolm Kenyatta (D).
  • Treasurer: Incumbent Stacy Garrity (R) will face Erin McClelland (D).

Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation

  • PA-1 (Bucks & Montgomery): Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R) will face Ashley Ehasz (D).
  • PA-2 (Philadelphia): Rep. Brendan Boyle (D) will face Aaron Bashir (R).
  • PA-3 (Philadelphia): Rep. Dwight Evans (D) does not have a general election opponent.
  • PA-4 (Berks & Montgomery): Rep. Madeleine Dean (D) will face David Winkler (R).
  • PA-5 (Chester, Delaware, Montgomery & Philadelphia): Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D) will face Alfeia Goodwin (R).
  • PA-6 (Berks & Chester): Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D) will face Neil Young (R).
  • PA-7 (Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe & Northampton): Rep. Susan Wild (D) will face Ryan Mackenzie (R).
  • PA-8 (Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike & Wayne): Rep. Matt Cartwright (D) will face Rob Bresnhan Jr. (R).
  • PA-9 (Berks, Bradford, Columbia, Lebanon, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna & Wyoming): Rep. Dan Meuser (R) will face Amanda Waldman (R).
  • PA-10 (Cumberland, Dauphin & York): Rep. Scott Perry (R) will face Janelle Stelson (D).
  • PA-11 (Lancaster & York): Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R) will face Jim Atkinson (D).
  • PA-12 (Allegheny & Westmoreland): Rep. Summer Lee (D) will face James Hayes (R).
  • PA-13 (Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry & Somerset): Rep. Jim Joyce (R) will face Beth Farnham (D).
  • PA-14 (Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Somerset, Washington & Westmoreland): Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R) will face Chris Dziados (D).
  • PA-15 (Armstrong, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, Union, Venango & Warren): Rep. Glenn Thompson (R) will face Zach Womer (D).
  • PA-16 (Butler, Crawford, Erie, Lawrence, Mercer & Venango): Rep. Mike Kelly (R) will face Preston Nouri (D).
  • PA-17 (Allegheny & Beaver): Rep. Chris Deluzio (D) will face Rob Mercuri (R).

Pennsylvania House of Representatives

The current makeup of the House is 102 Democrats and 101 Republicans.

3 members lost their primary election (2 Democrats and 1 Republican)

  • HD-80 (Blair & Huntington): Scott Barger (R), who does not have a general election opponent, will replace Rep. Jim Gregory (R), who lost in the primary election.
  • HD-117 (Luzerne): Jamie Walsh (R), who does not have a general election opponent, will replace Rep. Mike Cabell (R), who lost in the primary election.
  • HD-172 (Philadelphia): Sean Dougherty (D) will face Aizaz Gill (R). Dougherty defeated Rep. Kevin Boyle (D) in the primary election.

13 open seats (9 Republicans and 4 Democrats)

  • HD-5 (Berks): Heather Hanna (D) will face Eric Weaknecht (R). This is an open seat due to the retirement of Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R).
  • HD-14 (Beaver): Kenya Johns (D) will face Roman Kozak (R). This is an open seat due to the retirement of Rep. Jim Marshall (R).
  • HD-28 (Allegheny): Bill Petulla (D) will face Jeremy Shaffer (R). This is an open seat due Rep. Rob Mercuri (R) running for Congress.
  • HD-38 (Allegheny): John Inglis (D) will face Stone Sobieralski (R). This is an open seat due to Rep. Nick Pisciottano (D) running for PA Senate.
  • HD-56 (Westmoreland): Brian Rasel (R), who does not have a general election opponent, will replace Rep. George Dunbar (R) who is retiring.
  • HD-63 (Clarion & Armstrong): Pat Richie (D) will face Joshua Bashline (R). This is an open seat due to the retirement of Rep. Donna Oberlander (R).
  • HD-90 (Franklin): Chad Richard (R), who does not have a general election opponent, will replace Rep. Paul Schemel (R) who is retiring.
  • HD-92 (York): Daniel Almoney (D) will face Marc Anderson (R). This is an open seat due to Rep. Dawn Keefer (R) running for PA Senate.
  • HD-96 (Lancaster): Nikki Rivera (D) will face Eric Beezer (R). This is an open seat due to the retirement of Rep. Mike Sturla (D).
  • HD-103 (Dauphin & Cumberland): Nate Davidson (D) will face Cynthia Ward (R). This is an open seat due to Rep. Patty Kim (D) running for PA Senate.
  • HD-120 (Luzerne): Fern Leard (D) will face Brenda Pugh (R). This is an open seat due to the retirement of Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R).
  • HD-126 (Berks): Jacklyn Rusnock (D) will face James Oswald (R). This is an open seat due to the retirement of Rep. Mark Rozzi (D).
  • HD-187 (Lehigh): Stefanie Rafes (D) will face Gary Day (R). This is an open seat due to Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R) running for Congress.
